North Judson Area Guide
A part of Wayne Township in Starke County, North Judson’s population sits almost at 2,000 and is the home of the Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad headquarters.
Originally known as Brantwood, the town was platted in 1859, less than a mile northwest of the current town. The town post office was established in 1860 as North Judson, named after Adrian Judson. Adrian Judson one of the promoters of the railroad that would later become part of the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad that was laid through town. The North part of the name was most likely added to eliminate the confusion with downstate Judson, Indiana.
Today, the town sits at the intersection of State Road 10 and State Road 39.
